Elena Walch
The family-owned Elena Walch winery is one of the most important players in South Tyrolean viticulture. The VIGNA Kastelaz above the village of Termeno is one of the rare south-facing vineyards in South Tyrol. Planted with the Gewürztraminer and Merlot grape varieties, the vines lie at around 360 metres above sea level. The soil of the Kastelaz consists mainly of calcareous hillside rubble. The unique terroir wines are created by the light soil and the special climatic conditions of the warm southern exposure.
Hofstätter
The winery was founded in 1907 by Josef and Maria Hofstätter. Since 1992, the winery has been run by Martin Foradori Hofstätter in the 5th generation. The estate's vineyards are located in the east and west of the Adige Valley as well as in southern Trentino and the Moselle wine-growing region in Germany. The vineyards are therefore exposed to different levels of sunlight and different soil structures, which provides additional growing conditions.
Termeno Winery
In 1898, the parish priest of Termeno, Christian Schrott, founded the co-operative to secure the future of many local winegrowers. Around 160 winegrowing families work together with the Termeno Winery and cultivate a total of around 270 hectares. On average, the winery produces 1.9 million bottles per year. The Gewürztraminer Epokale from the Termeno winery was the first Italian white wine to be awarded 100 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. The wines of the winery are cultivated at an altitude of between 250 and 850 metres above sea level.
